You've heard about Primal Zone. Maybe you've read a few of our articles, or a mate recommended us. You know you want to do something about how you've been feeling — but you're not sure exactly how the process works.
Fair enough. Here's the full walkthrough, step by step. No surprises, no hidden hoops.
Step 1: Complete the Health Assessment
Everything starts with our online health quiz. It takes about 5 minutes and covers:
- Your details — Name, contact info, age
- Your goals — What you're looking to improve (energy, weight, performance, recovery)
- Your symptoms — What you've been experiencing and for how long
- Your medical history — Current medications, conditions, lifestyle factors
- Consent & identity — Required for telehealth prescriptions in Australia
This gives our clinical team a clear picture of where you're at before anyone picks up the phone. No wasted time, no repeating yourself.
Once you've completed the quiz, you'll receive login credentials to access the Primal Zone Patient Portal.
Step 2: Log In to the Patient Portal
The portal is your home base. This is where everything happens — uploading documents, tracking your progress, and communicating with the clinical team.
Once you log in, you'll see your dashboard with clear next steps. No guessing what to do next.
Step 3: Upload Your Blood Work
If you already have recent blood test results (within the last 12 months), upload them directly through the portal. This speeds things up significantly.
If you don't have bloods yet, no problem. You can order a comprehensive hormone panel through our platform — no GP referral needed. Results come back within 24-48 hours and are sent directly to you.
What we're looking at:
- Total and free testosterone
- Oestradiol (E2)
- SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin)
- PSA (prostate screening)
- Full blood count
- Liver and kidney function
- Thyroid markers
- Metabolic panel
These markers give the doctor a complete picture of your hormonal health, not just a single number.
Step 4: Upload Your ID
Australian telehealth regulations require identity verification before any prescription medication can be issued. Through the portal, you'll upload:
- Medicare card details — Card number, reference number, and expiry
- Photo ID — Driver's licence or passport
Your documents are encrypted and stored securely in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988. They're only accessed by authorised clinical staff.
Step 5: Submit and Wait for Review
Once your blood work and ID are uploaded, hit submit. That's your part done for now.
From here, our clinical nursing team reviews everything you've provided:
- Your quiz answers and medical history
- Your blood test results
- Your identity documents
- Any flags or follow-up questions
This review ensures that when you sit down with the doctor, they already have the full picture. No time wasted going over basics.
Step 6: The Nurse Gets Back to You
After the review, one of our clinical nurses will reach out to you. This is a quick check-in to:
- Confirm you're a good fit — Based on your symptoms, blood work, and medical history
- Answer any questions — About the process, what to expect, or anything you're unsure about
- Arrange your doctor appointment — A telehealth consultation with an AHPRA-registered doctor who specialises in men's hormonal health
If for any reason the clinical team determines that our services aren't the right fit for you, they'll let you know honestly and suggest alternative options. We'd rather be straight with you than waste your time.
Step 7: Your Doctor Consultation
This is a proper medical consultation — not a 5-minute tick-and-flick. Your doctor will:
- Review your blood results in detail and explain what each marker means
- Discuss your symptoms and how they relate to your levels
- Explain all available treatment options, including risks and benefits
- Answer every question you have — no rushing
- Create a personalised treatment plan if appropriate
The consultation is via video or phone call. You can do it from home, the office, or wherever you're comfortable. It's discreet and private.
Step 8: Treatment Begins
If the doctor determines treatment is appropriate, your medication is prescribed and delivered discreetly to your door. From there:
- Ongoing monitoring — Follow-up blood tests at 12 weeks, then every 6 months
- Regular check-ins — Your clinical team stays in touch to track progress
- Dose adjustments — Your protocol is fine-tuned based on how you respond
You're never left guessing. The portal keeps everything in one place — results, prescriptions, appointments, and communication with your care team.
How Long Does the Whole Process Take?
Here's a realistic timeline:
- Quiz completion: 5 minutes
- Blood test results: 24-48 hours (if ordering through us)
- Clinical review: 1-2 business days after all documents are submitted
- Nurse contact: Within 1-2 business days of review completion
- Doctor consultation: Usually within a few days of nurse contact
- Medication delivery: Typically within a week of prescription
If you already have blood work ready to upload, you can move through the process faster. Most men go from quiz to consultation within a week.
What If I'm Not Sure Yet?
That's completely fine. Taking the quiz and getting your blood work done doesn't commit you to anything. It gives you information — and information is how you make a good decision.
Many of the men who come through our platform start by saying "I just want to know where I stand." That's a perfectly good reason to begin.
When you're ready, the first step is the health assessment. Everything else follows from there.
